How to send data to a serial port only after getting an acknowledgement in VB.Net

Hey TJ's,
             Need some help from you guys ..Could anyone suggest how do I perform the following task.
I need to send multiple instructions to a controller through a serial port ... So it works something like this.
I read one by one all instructions stored and then send them only after receiving an acknowledgement from the controller say "*" ...However the first instruction in the buffer doesn't need to receive an acknowledgement ............ i know its some simple thing but please guys could you help me out .....I hope you guys understood what i am trying to say .. please do comment on this post and help me out ..... Hoping for the answer as soon as possible

Serious Sam 3:BFE PC Review

Serious Sam has earned ‘cult’ status on the PC platform. The first two titles proved to be big sellers for Croteam, targeting the first person shooter audience who just wanted a good old ‘run and gun’ style experience. I have been playing the latest iteration in the series now for the last week and have found it both fun, and is really an incredibly challenging game.

Croteam have followed the same structure as the previous titles – a very clever mix of letting the gamer rest for a few moments to collect powerups and weapons, followed by a 15 minute maniac session of rampant fragging. It may sound like a mindless shooter, but in reality, the pacing is actually very clever.

Most of you reading this will already know if you are going to like the game, because it doesn’t really break any new ground. If you hated the first two titles and yearned for a sophisticated plot, resplendent with puzzles then you are not going to find pleasure with SS3 BFE. This is at heart, an old fashioned shooter with a very nicely updated engine to bring the franchise screaming and kicking into 2011.

NEW POKEMON GAMES PRETTY COOL

The new Pokemon games announced today, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, have a far more contemporary graphical look to them than games of yester year. They’re very pretty indeed and feature a variety of different gameplay view points, beyond the traditional 5th person top down.

Debuted today in a new trailer for the game, Pokemon X and Y also feature new Pokemon as you might expect, along with three new starting choices. The battles also look more cinematic, more in-line with the style of Pokemon Stadium games on the N64.

While there is a quick gameplay breakdown trailer, Nintendo also released a ten minute video, featuring Satoru Iwata who gives a run down on the Pokemon series, before getting to the new games.

How to Recover Permanently Deleted Files

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean working code for multi-user support

If there's ever been a persistent gripe among families sharing mobile devices, it's been the absence of multiple user profiles -- hand that iPad or Nexus 7 to Junior and you may have to play a spot-the-differences game when it comes back. Some long overdue testing of previously found code references in Jelly Bean shows that Google, at least, has explored ending that anxiety over who uses the family gadgets. Command-line code in AOSP-based versions of Android 4.1 will let you create a separate guest profile, complete with its own lock screen security, home screen layout and limited settings. To say that the code is unpolished would be an understatement, however. Apps and even some notifications cross over from the main account, which could prove more than a little embarrassing if the hardware is left in the wrong hands. At least it's easy to revert back, as the instructions (and video after the break) show. The real challenge will be waiting to see when -- or really, if -- Google gets to finishing multi-user code and turns that Nexus 7 into the communal tablet we want it to be.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean hits Motorola Xoom tablet

If you own a Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi tablet, the wait for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is over.

Motorola Mobility, now owned by Google, on Friday announced it has begun rolling out the latest version of the Android mobile operating system, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, to U.S. owners of Motorola Xoom. Only Xoom models with Wi-Fi are currently getting the update, however. There's no word as to when users in other countries and those with the 3G and 4G versions of the Xoom tablet will be getting a taste of Jelly Bean.

Apple iOS 6 beta version restricts number of apps per iPhone or iPad

Apple says that the new beta versions of its iOS 6 operating system restricts the number of mobile apps that you can have installed on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch-– a limitation that didn't exist on iOS 4 or iOS 5. It's still not clear if that will be just for the beta version or if this will be permanent in iOS 6.
But the limit is high enough that only the most app-crazy owners would be annoyed. Once your iOS 6–equipped iDevice has over 500 apps installed on it, you will begin to experience slow booting, auto-rebooting, and other issues.

BlackBerry:The Leaders Must Now Learn To Chase

A decade ago, a BlackBerry phone was a remarkable possession. This sleek device offered features the likes of which no other mobile device at the time could claim. Chief among them was the facility to send and receive emails on the go right from the mobile device, without needing to connect with the mail server through a PC. And unlike PDAs, which did provide email exchange over phone lines, one didn’t need to synchronise and “request” the server for new mails. The transformation was  from pull to push; instead of a user having to pull his emails or other information (for instance, calendar updates) from his mail server, there now existed an interface, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, which made sure that every new mail and update was instantaneously pushed to the user’s BlackBerry device. This capability alone propelled Research in Motion, or RIM, BlackBerry’s maker, to the top of the enterprise phone market.

A decade down the line, things are no longer as rosy. In fact, they are so far removed from rosy that BlackBerry, and RIM, are left floundering for ways to remain relevant. What has changed? How could the principal phone provider for companies the world over suddenly be facing an existential question-mark?
